Agricultural Research Station, Kawadimatti was established during 1986. It is located 2 km away from Shorapur city on Srirangapattana to Bidar state highway. It consists of 69 hectors irrigated land. Sandy soil with high water table. Underground drainage system is done to over come the problem of high water table. Major field crops of the station are red gram, paddy and groundnut. Mango, sapota, ber, guava, fig, coconut, jamun and tamarind are the horticulture crops. Quality planting material is produced to meet the demand of the farming community. The important mandates were research on agricultural and horticultural crops, production of truthful label and foundation seeds of red gram, sunflower, groundnut etc., Four agricultural scientists of different discipline are working in this station. In addition to this 4 office supporting staff and 3 field assistants and 40 farm laborers are working. Office facilities like laboratory for Trichoderma production, 2 computers, 3 laptops with internet facility are available
