Raichur is situated in the north-eastern dry zone (Zone-2) of Karnataka located between 16o 15’N latitude and 77o 20’E longitude at an elevation of 389 meters above mean sea level with an average rainfall of 621.33 mm. The monthly mean maximum and minimum temperature of 38.0oC and 16.2oC are recorded in the month of April and December, respectively. The mean relative humidity varies between 52.96 per cent in April and 83.86 per cent in August.
