Introduction
The IPR cell and ABI Unit was established in the University in the year 2016 and 2018 to create awareness about the importance and role of protecting Intellectual property rights in agriculture sector and promotion of Agribusiness through incubation centres and support through various means, the budding and aspiring youths and others to start their own venture (production/protection/distribution/service lines).
The University is even promoting the frontiers/cutting edge technologies like robotics/nanotechnology/information technology by signing MoU’s with the companies. The promotion and supporting of FPO’s/FPC’s is another area where the cell is actively involved in. There is lot of enthusiasm among different stakeholders in the region as the number of applications for MoU with the University is increasing day by day.
The research findings of the university would be transformed into commercially viable technologies by collaborating with private and public sector under takings. The university has created congenial environment for providing technical support and facilitating services to upcoming entrepreneurs, alumni of UAS and progressive farmers to go in for start-ups in agriculture..
