Extension Education Unit, Bheemarayanagudi has conducted demonstration on integrated crop management in Cotton, Redgram, Bengalgram and Groundnut in an area of two acres each. The results are noteworthy and also conducted field days in oil palm, Redgram (Organic cultivation) crops and organized two animal health camps at Ingalagi and Doranahalli villages. The unit in collaboration with DBT Project has conducted block demonstration under organic farming on Redgram (BSMR-736) and Bengalgram in 75 acre in Biral (B), Rampur, Honnal, Hotinmadu and Andola villages with 35 beneficiary farmers. Unit Scientist has been deputed and participated in rapid roving survey work on Heliothis incidence in Redgram, Cotton, Sunflower and Bengalgram in Shahapur, Surapur and Yadagiri talukas. There was significant impact of training on vermicomposting, Bio-fertilizers, Trichoderma seed treatment where 6 trained farmers have established totally 15 vermicompost units, they are under productive condition. This unit has organized 24 on campus and 41 off campus trainings. That apart scientist of the unit visited 42 problematic fields & suggested suitable measures in four talukas. EEU has also arranged exposure tour programme for farmers to Pune, Parbani, Aurangabad, Solapur, Rahuri of Maharashtra State. Extension Education Unit has given technical guidance to the farmers for establishment of Grapes, Papaya, Banana and Mango orchards.
