Important Particulars of the College
The College of Agriculture, Kalaburagi was established in the year 2011 & is celebrating 8th year of its establishment. Earlier it was started at ZARS Campus and later college shifted to its own new campus near Raneshpeer –Rukhum Tulla Darga on Aland Road of Kalaburagi city. This district comprising of part of both North-Eastern dry zone (Kalaburagi, Afzalpur, Chittapur, Sedam, Jewargi talukas) and North-Eastern Transitional zone (Aland and Chincholi talukas) of Karnataka. Geographically college is located between 170 21’ 32” N latitude and 760 48’ 10” E longitude at an elevation of 484 mt. MSL, characterized by dry climate with an average annual rainfall of 737.25 mm. This city is well connected by Air, Rail and Road. The near by Metropolitan city is Hyderabad which 200 Km away from the location. The district is blessed with many rivers and irrigation projects like Amerga in Aland taluk, Bennethora and Gandorinala projects in Kalaburagi taluka, Bheema lift irrigation in Afzalpur taluk, Lower Mullamari and Chadrampalli projects in Chincholi taluk with a total projected irrigation potential of 0.96 lakh ha. In addition to these minar irrigation projects more than 15 barrages were constructed across the Bheema and Kagina rivers for fulfilling the need of drinking water and also for supplementary irrigation of major field crops in the respective area. So, another mega irrigation projects i.e, UKP covers the entire Jewargi taluka of Kalaburagi, a prestigious and one of the largest irrigation command areas of the country. The district has a varied range of soil type majority of soils belong to moderately deep (75-100 cm) black soils derived from deccan trap.

- To impart quality agriculture education and allied subjects.
- To prepare the agriculture graduates with on highly competitive mode for the development of the farming sector.
- To organize capacity building programme for teaching, research and extension activities.
