The only Agricultural Engineering College in the state, it was started as the Agricultural Engineering Institute in 1969 offering the Diploma course in Agricultural Engineering. The College of Agricultural Engineering was established in the year 1987 to offer the four year B-Tech (Ag.Engg) programme. The college also offers M.Tech (Ag.Engg) programmes with specialization in Soil and Water Engineering, Farm Power and Machinery and Agril. Processing and Food Engineering. Most of the graduates from this premier college are employed in Tractor and Micro-Irrigation companies, Banks, CADA, R & D Institutions like ICRISAT, Universities and Entrepreneurship. The college has well qualified and experienced staff involved in Teaching, Research and extension activities in various facets of Agricultural Engineering. Four AICRPs are being operated in the fields of Utilization of Animal Energy Farm implements and machinery, Renewable Energy Sources and Post Harvest Technology. The staff has completed a number of externally funded Projects, Revolving Fund Projects, Testing and Custom Hiring of farm Implements projects. The students have also shown good promise by getting selected in national competitive examinations as well as securing overall championships in University level youth festivals and sports meets.
