In modern days the multi-functional institutions with complex nature of activities are globally viewed as mega projects. Policy, planning, and monitoring the activities and progress of such organizations assumes great importance. This crucial role cannot be taken as routine activity and it needs special focus. Further, the Chief Executive needs continuous inputs for informed policy decisions. The importance of such an organization like a cell to generate policy inputs, to plan, and monitor is realized under the National Agricultural System, which also includes State Agricultural Universities.
In view of this need, the University has set up a Project Planning and Monitoring Cell (PPMC), The broad objectives of the PPMC are:
- Preparation of perspective plan of the University
- Preparation of annual plans for research and extension
- Monitoring the implementation of the plans
- Preparation of reports to be released by the University based on the technologies developed by different faculties of the University
- Performance evaluation of technologies released by the University
- To develop a scheme of research priorities in the University
- To advice the Vice-Chancellor on policy matters, replies to questions raised in the legislature, etc.
The Planning Officer will be under the direct administrative control of the Vice-Chancellor and will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for all the works detailed in the above objectives.
